Governors
What are school Governors?
School Governors are a bit like a Board of directors in business (but Governors are unpaid!). We help the Head Teacher to set strategic direction and budgets. We don't manage the school; the Head is responsible for the day to day running of the school but Governors support the head teacher and challenge where required to ensure the school is being run effectively.
What do Governors do?
Governors meet at least once a term. There are also sub-committees covering curriculum & resources. There are regular items which have to be checked and approved including SATs, targets & results, budgets, residential visits, health & safety etc. All of these are important subjects affecting Clinton children & staff.
Who are the Governors?
The school office has a full list of Clinton Governors. Many Clinton Governors are regularly around school and happy to talk informally about the school direction & strategy. Alternatively you can e-mail Governors at the school office admin2308@we-learn.com
Can I get involved?
There are various types of Governors including Parent Governors, Staff Governors, & LEA Governors with very different backgrounds, skills & interests. If you are interested in becoming a Governor please talk to any of the Governors listed below or the school office.
