Children in year 6 had a great time designing theme-park rides as part of their ‘Context for Learning’.
They used KNEX and control technology via lap-tops to control movements (including speed and direction), make lights flash and make fairground music go off and on.
Here’s what the children thought…
Hayley Jayne: I liked making the fairground rides, using the technology and learning new things. I found it was quite hard.
Charlie Butler: It was quite fun getting to programme in what you wanted and working with your friends.
Amber: I enjoyed making the wheel and controlling the spinner!
Joe: I liked being able to use the motor in whichever way we chose.
See one working!
